The textile industry hasn't been one of the most exciting industries over the last few years and the pandemic has meant an increased need for innovation. While the world seemed to stand still, briefly, we've seen so much growth and in a lot of ways made the world stronger.
Ron says that even if he hasn't been to any trade show in the last few years, there's still a lot of information we can get online. One of the key trends for people in the textile industry is the public demand to use cleaner, greener products.
"There's no doubt that some of the products we sell are from older technology, and there's much work being done to improve those things, to supersede them. We want to be a part of that," he says.
He notes that everything has to go cautiously down the path but that the path towards selling greener alternatives certainly is more attainable now more than ever. We always want to ensure that our products are taking strides towards clean and higher quality alternatives.
"We're also purchasing more products that are coming from recycled waste. A big push is on recycled PT bottles, particularly from the ocean," he says.
We've always been committed to doing what's best for our customers and the planet. That's why we're striving to increase the number of products that are made from recycled materials.
While innovation is at the forefront of all industries, it still has a long way to go to be viable financially to be able to provide cost effective clean textiles. As Ron mentions, this is the biggest impediment. Lots of people want to be green, want to be clean, and want to do the right thing, but it’s been proven to be expensive.
